An “outdoor activity” is defined by different people in different ways because the manner in which we enjoy America’s natural beauty and the great outdoors differs from one person to the next. Two examples make my point:A friend in Minnesota is an avid fan of snowshoeing in the middle of winter. She and her husband live in a semi-rural area and only have to step out their back door to take advantage of the nearby woods to go on an adventure. On their parkas, they each wear a custom outdoors pin from a national organization that celebrates snowshoeing. It’s part of their winter garb whether they are tromping through deep, fresh snow or run into town in their car to pick up something at the store. Living in Utah, I appreciate our winters but when it comes to enjoying an outdoor life I prefer warmer weather activities. So, a few summers ago I went on a salmon fishing trip to Alaska. It was my first time in the state and the first time I did that kind of fishing. After I had caught a salmon, that night at the camp as my fish was being fried over an open fire, our guide handed me a custom lapel pin that looked just like the fish I’d caught earlier in the day. It was provided courtesy of an Alaskan organization that promotes tourism in the Lower 48.The point is that how my friends and I enjoy the outdoors is very different but we each take pleasure in our own way – and showing off our enjoyment to the world!.It also explains why, over the past several years, a growing number of organizations, publications and even television programs are ordering custom outdoors lapel pins to give to members, subscribers and viewers as a way of letting people display their appreciation of the great outdoors.
Whether an outdoor lapel pin is given to members of a group or to people who read a magazine that focuses on a specific aspect of enjoying the great outdoors, it binds people together and expresses their happiness at enjoying some aspect of nature.Groups as diverse as bird watchers, friends of a special endangered species of wildlife, duck hunters (in season, of course!), deer trackers and polar bear watchers all find creating a unique pin helps spread the word as well as being a means of identifying themselves to other members. For the organization – or the producer of a program and publisher of a magazine – their custom pin also becomes a way of saying “thank you” to the people who support the effort or are fans. What our customers appreciate is the ability to have a pin as unique as the cause itself. Whether it is a hard enamel pin that we can make to look like fine jewelry or a die cast pin that can be made in any shape including one that looks like an outdoor activity, bird or animal, there’s a lapel pin that is just right to convey your message. The best part is that a custom outdoors pin is economical! As little as 60-cents each depending on the quantity, size and style that you order. Plus, everything is included:
